Dodge Guys! Front Brake Upgrade Information!

This has been a struggle from start to finish, but I finally have these in stock. My next move is getting the website tuned up and a payment system going. For now, send me an email at info@industrialchassisinc.com or text to ‪(480) 535-7774‬ to learn how to purchase a pair.

And I swear, I am working on the adjustable tie rod drops to fix the bumpsteer. So stay tuned on that.

I am doing an introductory price of $200 a pair with hardware, shipped in the contiguous USA through USPS

These will work on your Dodge Dakota from 1987-1996 When using the full sized D150 rotor. These will not work with the stock Dakota rotor!  This will also work with your D100, D150, and B150, and some B1500 vans. These should also fit a few other models like New Yorkers, Newport, Town and Country cars that use the same spindle and rotor from 1972 on.

If your spindle looks like this, there is a good chance this bracket will allow you to use the Wilwood D52 two piston slider caliper on your stock rotor. CentricStopTECH and R1 Concepts are both making slotted and coated rotors for a nice visual and actual performance upgrade.

The one I am unsure of is the D100 with the 5 on 4.5″ bolt circle. The inner bearing is smaller indicating the spindle may be different.

The update here is that the 1980-1984 Dodge D150 rotor for the 3300 lb. front axle is the small pattern rotor has the 63mm inner bore on the rotor so it does fit the spindles with the 1.49″ bearing register. Everything else is the same as the 3600 lb. axle with the 5 on 5.5″ rotor. Beware of what inner bearing and race are used on your application, as there is a difference in the small pattern rotors. The National A17 shows a 1.3772 (34.981mm) inner bore on the bearing and a 2.3622 (60mm) outer, which is smaller than the National A18 bearing that rings in at 1.4961 (30mm) on the inner bore and 2.4803 (63mm) on the outer. Both carry the same A18 bearing. If you are unsure of what spindle you have, grab a measuring caliper and check that inner bearing register on your spindle with these inner bore dimensions. And please refer to this drawing for your caliper mounting dimensions.

It is possible that these brackets will work on the D100 spindle, but it is unlikely that the small pattern D100 rotor will fit the Dakota or D150 spindles, because of this diameter difference.
I would love to be proven wrong on this!  And now I was proven wrong, we are good to go!

The Dakota and D150/B150/B1500 use the same bearings and grease seals.

National A18 inner bearing with 38mm ID and 63mm OD. And all the spindles use the same A16 outer bearing with the 21.999mm ID and 45.974 OD.

The caliper brackets are on their way!

Finally after so many promises broken and FedEx sitting on my shipment for two weeks! I have confirmation I will get these shortly.

Working on setting up the webstore right now.

The D52 Caliper brackets are almost ready!

This has been a long time coming, but I have my proofs! Just a few small edits to go and production will start.

proper caliper brackets for the Dodge Dakota/D150 based front suspensions I have been using for some time.

This will convert a 87-96 Dakota to use the full-sized #D150 brake rotor on the Dakota spindle and allow use of the Wilwood D52 two piston caliper as an upgrade and bolt pattern change to the 5 on 5 1/2″ bolt pattern. This will also allow the use of the Wilwood D52 caliper the following models.

DODGE B150 1985-1994
DODGE B1500 1995-1997
DODGE B250 1985-1994
DODGE B2500 1995-1997

DODGE B250 1994
DODGE B2500 1995-1997
DODGE RAM 1500 VAN 1999-2002

These will be available very soon, still setting up my “store” to pick up a pair yourself.

And getting underway is alloy hubs and big rotor options along with other caliper options. Working on a full brake ecosystem for these trucks and vans.

Pricing will be $250 a pair with hardware and instructions. Shipping through USPS Flat Rate is my first option. Also considering an Amazon store for added convenience. And once underway, I am starting my new aluminum hubs and a “big rotor” options.

GM To Dodge spindle caliper bracket

Fully supported caliper and machined mounting surfaces for accuracy and squareness to the spindle . Likely cast steel, then machined.

Thinking this is the design I want to go with. Making a few edits for production and printing a model. Filming the progress as I go here when it comes time to do some test fitting.

Dodge Brake upgrades

Things are still moving around behind the scenes, just moving slow. I was hoping we would have things in production by now. Things are in place but family matters have been getting in the way for all involved.

But you Dodge guys!!

Brake kits, you want them, so I have an idea on how to improve the front brakes.

I have in the past done custom machine work to adapt bigger and better brakes to the Dakota/D150 spindle. But it’s expensive to pull off. Now that CNC machining has become so prevalent I have found a local partner that can make some of my ideas into reality.

If you are interested, please drop me a line at steve@industrialchassisinc.com and Let me know your thoughts.

I am going through the list of applications for cross-compatibility. Looks like the vans will also be in this list of compatible spindles. So long as your vehicle uses the A16 outer and A18 inner wheel bearing, these components will likely fit. The later vehicles have an ABS Tone Ring inside the hub. That will have to be dealt with also for those want to retain the ABS functionality.

Stagnation: The condition of being stagnant; the cessation of flow

I need to post an update about the state of the product lines.

The arrangement with my employer has been difficult when it comes to production, pricing and shipments. I am exploring my options because you guys have been wanting more product that the current situation cannot fulfil.

I have been in contact with a few interested parties in a licensing agreement to produce the kits and parts again.

If you are in need of parts, please contact me at steve@industrialchassisinc.com

We have achieved a soft open

These last two years have been very interesting. The shop has been operating at very limited capacity since August of last year. We are now at a point were we can start ramping up production. Some parts are available now, but building inventory is always going to be slow.

I made the decision to stop making a few low volume parts, like the Studebaker clips. The issues now with the Mustang II spindles is going to require a redesign of a kit I have been producing for nearly 18 years. And the fixture was damaged in the move. I really don’t want to go through the trouble to redesign and build from scratch again on those. I am going to focus on the trucks more. In design right now are my un-parallel rear four bar kits. With air bag or coil over options. There will be a standard height and a Bridge Notch type. Also is a Pre-Z front suspension kit. This will get you 2″ closer to the ground for those of you wanting to lay frame/rocker.

The shops main focus is full builds. Industrial Chassis is the house brand of parts to Phoenix Hotrod Company. You can find them over at www.phoenixhotrods.com This site will remain as the focus on parts and chassis builds.

I am moving away from Facebook. The ad pushes and cultured content are just too much. Please make an account here on the website and join the forums. I do not collect data on you, will not sell your information and can focus on your questions better.

Making use of my free time

Quarantine time

We find ourselves in strange times with this viral outbreak. My merger with Phoenix Hotrod Company is ongoing, but we are on a limited work schedule. So what am I to do with a four day weekend for the next few weeks. Normally we work a 4-10 with a nice three day weekend, but we are trying to limit exposure. By one day? Okay, that’s what the legal team wants.

Everyone is doing it, so I may as well join the fray. I’m getting back to doing my videos on YouTube. I have two of my long-term projects stored at a secret location where I can work on them over the weekend like normal folk. So naturally, I need to document it and put it on YouTube, right? The first project I am going to work on is my 1954 Ford F100. I started this years ago.

This was a farmer’s Special. Worked hard and abused to death. Was originally a standard truck with a 272 Ford Y-block and overdrive trans and heater being the only upgrades. When I got it, the frame rail on the driver side had two major breaks and some really sketchy repairs. The right side rail wasn’t much better. I pulled the frame all the way down to the rails. Designed and built a whole new fabricated center X-member, installed one of my Dakota IFS kits with 1990 Dakota parts. All powder coated and rebuild. The rear is a 1969 Dana 60.3 from a Camper Special truck. Rebuilt, all new bearings and custom axles to use the later Ford 8.8 style axle bearings, Wilwood brakes all around, Ride Tech coil overs on the rear with helper sleeve airbags and Cargo Coil springs and Bilstein Shocks on the front. The intent is to build a towpig. Like a heavy half ton truck that can comfortably tow a 24′ enclosed trailer.

Power is coming from a Cummins ISF 3.8 four cylinder turbodiesel and backed by an Allison 1000 6-speed auto.

The goal is is to make this look like it was a stock truck, but as a crew cab. Even going with the factory colors.

Follow along with the build. https://www.youtube.com/user/ELpollacko
